biosustain
The
context of the company is a world undergoing "globalisation",
in which
production is increasingly effectuated for a global market
(and in which
significant differences still exist in the capacity
of different producers to
respond to incentives, opportunities and
constraints), the carrying capacity
of world resources (sustainability)
is rapidly decreasing, and the autonomy
of the national state is shrinking
at a time when its obligations
(i.e., ensuring sustainable development)
are increasing.
A review of global agricultural production and trade reflects this
situation.
The economic efficiency of organic compared to conventional
agricultural
production should not be restricted to short term productivity
figures alone,
but should take into consideration the long term, ecological
and resource-saving
effects. In other words, there is a need to develop
sustainability, rather than
simple efficiency as well as indicators
that show the true costs of production of
conventional agriculture.
These are the most important elements of biosustain quality:
Intensive
contact with the supplier:
- Collaboration
as partners
- Improvement
of growing conditions and production processes
- Identification
of possible sources of harmful substances
- Regular
local control by our organic agrarian personnel in order to
guarantee
the quality
